Lloyd Wayne McFee, 74, died on Nov. 9, 2003, at Osage Beach, while attending a Missouri Association of Counties meeting.
Funeral services of L. Wayne McFee were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Bram Funeral Home in Maysville. Burial will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery, near Weatherby. Memorials may be made to the “DeKalb County Commissioners Fund for County Cemeteries of Need” or the Weatherby United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
Lloyd Wayne McFee, 74, died on Nov. 9, 2003, at Osage Beach, while attending a Missouri Association of Counties meeting.
He was born May 24, 1929, at Weatherby to Bob and Velma Alice (Harms) McFee. He was a graduate of the Winston High School. Mr. McFee was a lifelong resident of DeKalb County.
Mr. McFee worked for the Missouri State Highway Department for 19 years. He farmed, was a dairyman, and a trucker hauling rock, limestone and fertilizer. For 12 years, from 1981 to 1992, he was the DeKalb County Sheriff and in 2000 was elected commissioner of DeKalb County and served in that position until his death.
Mr. McFee was a member of the Missouri Retired Sheriff’s Association, the Missouri Association of Counties and the Fairport Lions Club. He was the Republican committeeman for Adams Township and he served eight years on the Maysville R-2 School Board. Mr. McFee attended Weatherby United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 10, 1948, he married Lhea Bowman. She died in August of 1966. On Aug. 22, 1975, he married Martha Louise Allison. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include six sons, Larry and Garry, both of Maysville, Harold of Weatherby, Ron Allison of St. Joseph, Jim Allison of Amazonia, and Holley Allison of Round Mountain, Nev.; three daughters, Sue Owen of Rock Port, Connie Black of Amazonia, and Donna Swope of Maysville; two sisters, Joyce Hyatt of Weatherby and Jean Thomas of Maysville; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
