Funeral services for James W. Bennum, a native of Coffey, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial was at Foster Cemetery, New Hampton. Visitation is after 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends after 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or Harrison County Genealogy Society and/or Leukemia Society in care of the funeral home.

James W. Bennum, 70, New Hampton, died Nov. 9, 2003, at a Kansas City, Kan., hospital.

Mr. Bennum was born Oct. 29, 1933, in Coffey, the son of Clyde Myers and Lucille Love (Bales) Bennum.

Mr. Bennum was most recently a delivery driver for the Meals on Wheels program in Harrison County.

He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.

On May 22, 1955, he married Maudine Beeler. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Pat Lambert of Pattonsburg and Rhonda Hillyard of New Hampton; one brother, Gerald of Coffey; one sister, Mary Belle Gates of Gilman City; and two grandchildren.
