The North Central Missouri Bandmasters Association clinic and concert will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe. Guest conductor will be James C. Oliver, former director at Lee’s Summit High School. Guest soloist is Richard Yeager, woodwind soloist from Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph.

Gallatin Students participating are Katie Heldenbrand, oboe; Haleigh Tague, percussion; Kara Kloepping, french horn; Sean Wood, tenor sax; Jenny Youtsey, clarinet; Jonathan Arnold, clarinet; Heather Berry, trombone; Jenny Stanhope, flute; Logan Corwin, euphonium; and Lacy Edwards, bassoon.

Gallatin had five students audition for Junior High District Band. The five students were Phillip Arnold, trumpet; Tye Humphrey, trumpet; Lacy Edwards, bassoon; Ricky Allen, percussion; and Kaley Sheldon, bass clarinet.

Two of the five students placed in the band, two were alternates, and one did not place. Results were: Ricky Allen, sixth of eight percussion; Kaley Sheldon, first of second bass clarinet; Tye Humphrey, second alternate on trumpet; Lacy Edwards, first alternate on bassoon.

Jonathan Arnold auditioned for High School District Band on clarinet and received 17th out of 21 clarinets. Jonathan has qualified to audition for All-State Band. Auditions will be held Dec. 6 at Hickman High School in Columbia.
