Funeral services for Fred F. Shepard will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Friends may call after nine on Friday. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin Christian Church, Building Fund or Gallatin Senior Citizens Center.
Mr. Shepard, 80, was born Nov. 11, 1922 to Den and Nada Ramsbottom Shepard in Gallatin.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Shepard worked for Harvey A. Jones Engineering in Kansas City as a land surveyor for 31 years, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Shepard married Mary Ann Snider in 1955 in Stewartsville. In 1997 he and his wife moved to Gallatin to make their home.
Mr. Shepard was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Jack Shepard; and two sisters, infant Nina and Faye Shaffer.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Shepard of the home; one son, Stan Shepard of Raytown; and one brother, John R. Shepard of Gallatin.
