The Gallatin Board of Aldermen repealed the ordinance regarding liquefied petroleum storage regulations during their regular meeting held Monday, Oct. 20. The board heard first and second readings of the ordinance.
City Administrator Dougherty submitted an acceptance agreement from the County Commission regarding the street lights around the courthouse. Mr. Dougherty will discuss the agreement further with Dave Tolen and report back to the board.
Police Chief Jim Wycoff commented on the new concealed weapons law. He also discussed the Teen Beat organization and reiterated that Teen Beat was not affiliated with the City of Gallatin. Alderman Becky Wycoff confirmed that the city had no control of the Teen Beat finances.
Bills in the amount of $127,166.81 were approved for payment.
A business license for R&K’s Greenhouse was approved.
Mayor Thomas signed a business license for Page Tree Service.
An ordinance amending the city code addressing personnel was approved after first and second readings.
An ordinance adopting and enacting a new code of ordinances of the City of Gallatin was approved after first and second readings.
The mayor and board of aldermen will review proposals from auditors. An appointment was tabled until the next meeting.
Mr. Dougherty stated that the Park Board asked if city employees could help move the gravel on the new walking trail at Dockery Park. The board agreed to the city employees helping.
Mr. Dougherty asked about employees donating earned vacation or sick leave to another employee. The board agreed that the employee had earned the time so they could choose if they wanted to give it away or keep it for themselves.

Present were Mayor John Thomas, aldermen Becky Wycoff, Norma Griffin, Gene Caldwell, City Administrator Toby Dougherty, City Clerk Autumn Acree, Police Chief Jim Wycoff, Abel Perez, Bud Kirkendoll, Steve Ahrens, Tamara Jones, Kim Cornett and Cheri Wayne. Bob Snidow was absent.
