The events for homecoming will begin on Thursday, Oct. 16, with the coronation ceremony in the high school gym at 6:30 p.m. King and queen candidates are: juniors — Etsuko Abe and Emily Gay and Drayson Leeper and Jason McGee; seniors — Whitney Wright and Haleigh Tague and Mitch Riley and Colby Swanstone; STU-CO — Brittney Hixson and Tyler Nichols.
The 2003 Homecoming parade will leave the high school at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, arriving up town at 2:15 p.m. The elementary will go as classes to the town square to watch the parade.
The high school will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. The parade line-up will be in the high school parking lot.
There will be three categories for floats; senior high (10-12), junior high (7-9) and community. Winners will be announced at half time of the football game. If any one would like to submit an entry, please call the high school and let Mrs. McNeely or Mrs. Critten know by noon on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The Homecoming game will begin at 7 p.m. against the East Buchanan Bulldogs. Window decorating contest winners and float winners will be announced at halftime of the game.
All businesses are invited to participate in the window decorating contest. Any business wishing to participate should contact Mrs. McNeely or Mrs. Critten by Thursday, Oct. 16. The windows will be judged after school on Friday, Oct. 17.
The dance will be held immediately following the game in the high school gym, approximately 9:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.. The DJ will be MUSIC VIDEO TO GO. There will be a video screen. The gym will not be open until 9:40 p.m. Admission is $3 per person. There will be a closed door policy. Anyone leaving will not be allowed to return to the dance.
