A celebration of life for Edward Grimes will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Gallatin Lions Community Building in Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to Access II of Gallatin. Services arranged by McWilliams Family Funeral Homes.
Edward “Eddie” L. Grimes, 49, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Grimes was born March 11, 1954, to Edward Clayton and Geneva Lee “Phillips” Grimes in Maryville. The family moved to Gallatin in 1963. Mr. Grimes attended Gallatin High School and graduated from North Central Missouri College in Trenton with an associate of arts degree. Later he went to Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph and graduated salutatorian with a bachelor of arts degree. He also attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City Law School.
In 1997, Mr. Grimes became a teacher for the Adult Education Center in Gallatin.
He was a member of the Human Services Council.
Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Geneva Grimes.
Survivors include one son, Jessie, of the home; three sisters, Sandra Harlow of Kearney, Mary Leer of St. Joseph, and Rose Runyan of Lawson; and one brother, Oren Grimes of St. Joseph.
