Funeral services for Shirlene Pryor were held Saturday at Jamesport United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport. Burial was at Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Modena. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Jamesport.
Shirlene Pryor, 86, Jamesport, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at the North Kansas City Hospital.
Mrs. Pryor was born on July 11, 1917 in Mill Grove. She graduated from Jamesport High School in 1936. She attended Trenton Junior College, Maryville and Kirksville. In 1955 she moved to Kansas City. She returned to Jamesport in 1983.
Mrs. Pryor began her teaching career in one room schools. She retired from teaching to raise her family.
She married Olin Lea Pryor on Feb. 14, 1942, in Gilman City.
Mrs. Pryor was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jamesport.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Olin Pryor of the home; two sons, Joe of Columbia, and Bill of Lee’s Summit; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
