Funeral services for Mildred A. (Stephens) Stone were held Saturday at the Brown Funeral Home in Flint, Mich. Burial was at Crestwood Cemetery. A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Community Building in Altamont.
Mildred A. (Stephens) Stone, 88, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Stone was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Altamont. She attended school at Altamont.
On Feb. 23, 1934, she married Ernest Stone of Cameron. They lived in Altamont and Cameron areas before moving to Michigan to make their home.
Mrs. Stone was an active member of the Restoration Branch of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughters, Beverlee Mackey and Barbara Baird, sisters, Madge and Peggy Jane Stephens, brothers, Robert “Bud” and Bill Stephens, and grandson-in-law, Dallas Zink.
Survivors include one son, Richard “Dick” Stone of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Maxine Fulk of Weatherby, Vera Miller of Hannibal, and Edna Wilson of Altamont; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
