Three area youth were involved in an accident in Daviess County at about 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Sarah Carr, 17, Pattonsburg, was westbound on State Rt. OO in Jameson. She attempted to make a right turn onto Main Street. Shannon Dutro, 16, Coffey, was southbound on Main Street and stopped at the intersection. Mrs. Carr was traveling too fast for conditions and ran into the Dutro vehicle. Both came to rest in the intersection.
A passenger in the Dutro vehicle, Melissa Youngs, 16, Coffey, received minor injuries and was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital by Daviess County Ambulance.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. M.R. Heits, assisted by Daviess County.
Sarah Car received a summons for failing to make right turn as far right as practicable.
A mother and her infant son received minor injuries in an accident on Friday, Aug. 22, about three miles south of Gilman City in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Sharolyn Milligan of Bethany was eastbound on Route B. She failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of Jackie Webb of Gilman City, who was northbound on Route K. The Webb vehicle struck the Milligan vehicle in the right front.
Mrs. Milligan and her infant son, Hunter, were treated by EMS at the scene and released.
Both drivers and the infant were using safety devices.
Sharolyn Milligan’s vehicle, a 1996 Escort, was totaled and towed by Hustons Tow of Jamesport. The Webb vehicle, a 1995 Ford F350 pickup, received moderate damage and was removed by the owner.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.P. Lynch, assisted by Tpr. T.B. Gardner and Tpr. J.R. Johnson.
Sharolyn Milligan received a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign.
