39th Annual Michael Reunion

The 39th annual Jesse and Stella Cousins Michael family reunion was held August 2, 2003, at the community building in Ravanna. Fifty relatives attended a fun day for everyone. We enjoyed a delicious catered meal, prepared by Debbie Moore and Edith Moran of Ravanna, after Frank Michael gave thanks for the meal.

It was voted to hold next year’s reunion on Sat., Aug. 7, 2004 at the community building in Ravanna and also to have the meal catered again. It was also voted that David and Kayla Michael, Gallatin, would be the hosts next year. Pictures were taken and our annual auction took place.

The door prize was won by Tim Michael, Blue Springs; the person who came the farthest was Katie Michael Stoops, driving over from Fairbury, Nebraska; the oldest person attending was Bernie Hines, Milan; the youngest was 10-month-old Maddison Laura Michael, Gallatin.

The early bird gift was won by Julia Michael, Trenton. Two of the 13 children were in attendance, Frank Michael of Trenton and Lois Witcombe of West Bend, Ia.; another sister, Marjorie Jackson, now resides in a care facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was unable to attend. Our annual auction was lots of fun with Dick Michael doing the calling, and we brought in a good amount of money to be able to have the meal catered for next year’s reunion.
