The Alpha Zeta Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met July 1 at Ida Dowell’s with 10 members present. Minutes from the last meeting were read and the treasurer’s report was given. Food committees planned dinners to take to the family of Mandi Hemry.
Mandi recently had a baby. A luau will be held as this month’s social. Many of the members reported that they have received compliments on the flowerbeds at the courthouse. Other service projects and ways and means projects were discussed. Mizpah was said and refreshments were served. The next meeting will be at Priscilla Whitt’s.
The Laureate Delta Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met July 6 at the Darby House in Cameron. The dinner was in honor of Maxine VanDyke who is moving to California to live with her twin sister. Maxine’s daughter-in-law, Linda VanDyke, of St. Joseph was a special guest. After a gentle roast and a lot of shared pictures and memories, Maxine was presented with several gifts and cards. We all wish her “Good Luck” in this new chapter of her life.
