William Glenn Yost, 82, Gallatin, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for William Glenn Yost were held Tuesday at the Gallatin United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton with Military rites by Frank Frazier VFW Post No. 2172. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Gallatin.
William Glenn Yost, 82, Gallatin, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Yost was born April 20, 1921 in Pattonsburg. He graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1940.
Mr. Yost was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
He married Martha Lois Shippen on Nov. 9, 1946, in Gallatin. They made their home and farmed near Jameson for a number of years. Later they owned and operated the theater in Ridgeway.
They moved back to Gallatin where he was a car salesman for Gallatin Motor Company for eight years. They then moved to Savannah where they owned and operated Yost Chevrolet and Olds. In 1971, they moved to Marshall and co-owned the Yost Chevrolet Dealership with his brother Kenneth. Mr. Yost retired in 1986.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gallatin.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Gene Dungy, in 1970.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; one son, Bill of Hamilton; two daughters, Glenda Kimberlin of Springfield and Marlene Amick of Houston, Mo.; three brothers, Lawrence of Odessa, and Worth and Kenneth, both of Pattonsburg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
