City Administrator Toby Dougherty announced that natural gas has been contracted through March, 2004, at a rate of $5.90 per 1,000 cu. ft. during a special meeting for the city of Gallatin held on Monday, June 30, at city hall. An estimated cost for residential and commercial users will be $10.65 per 1,000 cu. ft. An exact figure has not been calculated.

Discussion was held on candidates for the position of mayor. The issue was tabled until the next regular meeting on July 14.
Mr. Dougherty discussed an ordinance for closing a street which had been tabled at the previous meeting. After first and second reading the board passed an ordinance discontinuing and abandoning a city street.
