Helen L. White

Private services and burial for Helen L. White will be held in Gallatin.

Helen L. White, 86, Stayton, Ore., died June 28, 2003, at Santiam Memorial Hospital in Stayyon.

Mrs. White was born in Gallatin on Jan. 22, 1917, daughter of R.W. (Bert) and Ina (Macy) Wynne.

Mrs. White was a graduate of Olivet College in Olivet, Mich., and Oregon College of Education in Monmouth, Ore.

Mrs. White was a retired schoolteacher from the Sublimity grade school in Sublimity, Ore. (1974)

Mrs. White moved to Gallatin in 1976 and resided there until 1994. She then moved back to Oregon to be near her children after suffering a stroke.

Mrs. White was a member of the Gallatin chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Gallatin United Methodist Church.

On Sept. 1, 1940, she married Paul A. White Jr. He died in February of 1972.

Mrs. White was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine.

Survivors include two children, Ina L. Turenne of Canby, Ore. and Paul A. White III of Sublimity, Ore; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
