The Winston R-6 Board of Education offered contracts for the 2003-2004 school year to Tammy Pence for English and Nicole Pulliam for elementary, and accepted the resignation of Kim Bouray. Contracts for cheerleading sponsorship were offered to Carol Caudle and Megan Barnard.
In financial matters, the board approved next school year’s salary schedule and amended last year’s school budget to reflect actual expenditures. Next year’s school budget was tabled and a special meeting will be held June 30 to approve that budget.
The council adopted a resolution to transfer $5,000 from Fund I to Fund IV.
Farmers Bank was selected for the school depository.
An attendance report, expulsion report and budget analysis report were reviewed and approved.
Tuition rate for non-resident students was set at $3,500.
The summer bus storage location was approved.
The board reviewed and accepted changes in the attendance policy for next school year.
Winston R-6 Board of Education members present at the June 19 regular meeting were Chretta Mastin, Julie Clark, Allan Ward, Gary Caldwell, Melvin Lee. Also present were High School Principal David Michael and Superintendent Wendell Burns.
Next regular meeting will be Tuesday, July 15.
