Traffic stop results in discovery of six pounds of marijuana

Lester B. Robinson, 44, Decatur, Ga., was charged June 17 with the Class B felony of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He is being held at Midwest Security Housing on $75,000 bond. Robinson was stopped the Highway Patrol for speeding on I-35. Robinson consented to a search of his car, and six pounds of marijuana were found hidden in the trunk and front bumper.

A burglary was reported June 16 by Doy V. Ricketts of Kansas City of a storage unit at Major and Midway Avenues owned by Mr. Ricketts. Subjects had broken two doors and taken several tools valued around $550.

A 33-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was arrested June 17 for misdemeanor possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana. He is being held at Midwest Security Housing on $500 bond.

William Harkrider of Kansas City was arrested June 17 in Clay County and charged with failure to appear on a charge of passing bad checks, Class D felony. He posted $5,000 bond. July 7 has been set as the court date.

A 19-year-old Des Moines, Iowa, man was charged June 21 with no valid license and posted $200 bond.

A 37-year-old Florissant Co. man was charged June 20 with misdemeanor excessive speeding, 103 mph in a 70 mph zone. He posted $350 bond.

A 19-year-old St. George, Kan., man was charged June 22 with misdemeanor littering. He posted $150 bond.
