Funeral services for Debra M. Drummond, niece of Mary Weldon of Gallatin, were held Saturday, May 24, at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley. Graveside services were held Sunday, June 1, at the Creekmore Cemetery in Gallatin. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to help defray funeral expenses.
Debra Marie Drummond, 45, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Oak Grove, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Valley Lutheran Hospital in Mesa.
Mrs. Drummond was born on Oct. 5, 1957, in Butler, the daughter of Delbert L. and Beatrice E (Harris) Drummond. She graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1975 and lived in Oak Grove for several years before moving to Mesa in 1999.
She was formerly married to Allen Closson for 18 years. He died in 1999.
Mrs. Drummond held several jobs in the food service and catering fields over the years, prior to establishing the D&D Cleaning Service in Oak Grove area. She continued with D&D in Mesa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert, on Aug. 3, 1973.
Survivors include the mother and stepfather, Bea and Bill Cummins of Oak Grove; two brothers, Ronnie Drummond and Roger Drummond, both of Independence; one sister, Dora Kahler of Deepwater.
