You’ll have a front row seat to fun when the Daviess County Library in Gallatin presents Parasol Puppets’ CIRCUS at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24. Puppeteer Peter Allen uses colorful hand- puppets to show you all of the thrills of the circus. From trained lions to snake-charmers, all of your favorite characters will be there to entertain you.

Sit back and experience the death-defying feats of the Ringmaster as he puts his head into the Crocogator’s mouth. Marvel at dexterity as a clown spins a plate above his head. You might want to hold onto your hat when the Cowboy does some “fancy shooting.” All this and more awaits you at Parasol Puppets’ CIRCUS.

Peter Allen has been performing as a puppeteer and actor for over 35 years. Born in England, he began doing puppet shows at the age of eight. A Canadian citizen, Peter has performed puppet shows in England, Scotland, Germany, Canada and the US. Peter moved to Hawaii when he married puppeteer Debbie Lutzky Allen in 1986.

They created Parasol Puppets in 1987 and successfully performed and taught puppetry from their Hawaii base for 10 years. In May of 1997, Peter, Debbie and Parasol Puppets moved to a farm outside of Jamesport. They continue to travel with their puppet performances, most recently to Seattle, Wash., for the Puppeteers of America “Festival of the Millennium,” to the Jarvis Conservatory in Napa, Calif., and to the Honolulu Academy of Arts in Honolulu, Hawaii.
