David Sandy of St. Joe, formerly of Kidder, will soon be installed as International President of the world’s largest organization for magicians, the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
The International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.) founded in 1922, is the industry’s most prestigious professional trade organization for magicians with over 14,000 members worldwide.
At age 39, Sandy, who’s been performing magic for over 30 years, will be one of the youngest to serve as International President of the 80-year old association. He will be installed at the organization’s annual international convention to be held in Kansas City July 1-5, 2003.
The convention is held every July in a major city somewhere in North America. Kansas City was chosen as a site for the 2003 convention in order to bring the event closer to Sandy’s hometown. Over 1,000 magicians from all over the globe will attend this five-day event headquartered at the downtown Marriott hotel with public performances at the nearby Lyric Theatre in Kansas City. Tickets are available to these stellar public shows.
In addition to his leadership and administrative responsibilities with the organization over the next 12 months, Sandy will travel worldwide attending magicians’ convention and special events representing the I.B.M.
Performing mostly at company banquets, corporate events and conventions, David also entertains regularly at clubs and trade shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. He will return to Hollywood, Calif., later this year for another engagement at the prestigious world-famous Magic Castle.
In addition, he produces several other shows, including the successful “Red Skelton: A Performance Tribute by Tom Mullica” show in Branson.
