James Sharp, 33, son-in-law of L.B. and Valerie Davis, was fatally injured in an automobile accident at about 8:49 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in Buchanan County.
James Sharp, 33, son-in-law of L.B. and Valerie Davis, was fatally injured in an automobile accident at about 8:49 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, in Buchanan County.
The accident occurred as Mr. Sharp was northbound on I-29 about three miles north of Faucett, when he apparently fell asleep and drove off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned and came to rest on its top. Mr. Sharp was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. A.O. Tourney, assisted by Sgt. D.A. Chenoweth and Trp. S.D. Black, Tpr. W.C. Fox, and the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department.
A woman and her daughter were injured in a one-vehicle accident on I-35 in Daviess County on Wednesday, May 14, at about 8:40 p.m. in Daviess County, according to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Jenny Hill, 48, Farmington, Minn., was southbound on I-35 about one mile south of Pattonsburg when she swerved to miss debris in the roadway and median. The vehicle slid back onto southbound I-35, overturned, and came to rest on the shoulder. The passenger, Ester Hill, 12, the daughter of the driver, was ejected.
Jenny Hill received minor injuries. Ester Hill received moderate injuries. Both were taken to the Cameron hospital.
The 1997 Toyota was totaled and towed by Bridgemans to a lot in Altamont.
Mrs. Hill was wearing her seat belt, Ester Hill was not.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. Huber.
No summons was issued.
James Wayne, 52, Gallatin, received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at about 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, in Clinton County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Mr. Wayne was northbound on I-35 about six miles south of Cameron, when he fell asleep. The vehicle traveled off into the median over a steep embankment where it struck the ground.
Mr. Wayne was taken by Cameron Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The 1995 Ford was extensively damaged and towed by Scotty’s Tow of Cameron.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. J. Angle, assisted by Tpr. C. Root.
No summons was issued.
