Sheriff Kevin Heldenbrand reported that depositions will be taken May 7 in the Robert Smith lawsuit filed in U.S. District court of Western Missouri against the county and Kevin Heldenbrand.
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting culvert problems.
Jeanette Hurst, Community Health, met with the commission and reviewed and compared health insurance options with employees and officials following a 21.8% increase in premiums.
Reta Rains, treasurer, filed her certificate of training.
The commission reviewed the monthly treasurer’s report and audited and paid bills.
The commission developed specifications for the sidewalk project and the purchase of a backhoe.
Deputies Ben Becerra and Todd Watson, sheriff’s office, met with the commission requesting the purchase of radar guns. The commission referred them to the sheriff for approval, if budgeted.
