Representatives of Superior Services, Inc. announced today that on April 1, 2003, the name of their facility changed to Onyx Waste Services Midwest, Inc.
Company officials said they are now adopting the “Onyx” name to better associate the facility and its equipment with its parent company, Onyx, and other members of the Onyx family of companies.
Onyx is an international leader in environmental services with a worldwide reputation for excellence. The facility will continue to be managed locally with headquarters in Milwaukee, Wis.
“While we’ll still have the same management and support team based here in Macon, we wanted to let people know we’re part of the Onyx Waste Services family,” said Roger Smith, general manager of the Missouri facility.
“Besides the name and a new logo on our trucks and containers, the rest of our organization will be staying the same. We want our customers to know that this will have no impact on our commitment to providing quality waste disposal services, while ensuring environmental excellence in everything we do.”
Starting this year, the new name will be seen on the facility’s waste collection trucks, waste containers, invoices and other printed materials. Officials said the change will have no impact on the company’s existing contracts, employees, community involvement or any other aspect of the organization.
“Northern Missouri’s ‘Superior’ community landfill and waste services company is still managed locally, and we will have the same dedicated team of professionals available to assist our customers,” said Roger Smith, general manager. “We will continue to play an active role in supporting local initiatives that work toward the overall betterment of our community, and we will continue to demonstrate the kind of corporate leadership for which our community can be proud.”
