Orville Lee Burton, 90, formerly of Jamesport, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 18, at the Jamesport Methodist Church.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Family Funeral Home, Jamesport. Burial will be at the Lock Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Look Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Burton was born Oct. 13, 1912 in Bevier. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1931.

Mr. Burton married Nadine NcNew on Nov. 10, 1933, in Lock Springs. They moved to Dalton, where he worked at the Dalton Grain Elevator and the local apple orchard. In 1937, he and his wife moved to Elmer, where they co-owned and operated a service station and garage.

In the fall of 1942, they moved to Kansas City, Kan., and Mr. Burton worked for North American Aviation. In 1950, the moved to a small farm northwest of Lock Springs, where he farmed. He became a co-owner of the Spillman Insurance Agency in 1971 in Jamesport.

In 1976, he sold the farm and moved to Jamesport where he continued to work in the insurance business until his retirement in 1979. After retirement, he and his wife spent the winter months in Arizona, returning back to their family and friends in Jamesport in the Spring.

Mr. Burton was a member of the Lock Springs Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nadine, on March 6, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Spillman, Phoenix, Ariz., Carolyn Brewer, Jamesport; two sisters, Lorraine Nichols, Overland Park, Kan., Doris Scherder, Bowling Green; two bothers, Ernest, Louisiana, MO., and Charles, Kansas City; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
