Funeral services for Floyd Pearson will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation is one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Centenary Cemetery, Gallatin. Friends may call after 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the 3 Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church-Mission Fund.

Floyd Elden Pearson, 86, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at the Liberty Hospital.

Mr. Pearson was born June 28, 1916 near Jameson.

Mr. Pearson served in the Army during World War II with the 284thOrdinance Heavy Maintenance Company and was stationed in the Hawaiian Islands, Southern Phillippines and Okinawa, Japan.

Mr. Pearson owned a feed grinding business and then began hauling rock, lime and dirt to individuals and townships in and among the surrounding counties until 1987.

He married Kathleen Louise Bywaters on Jan. 15, 1942, in Chillicothe. She died Aug. 13, 1954. On April 9, 1955, he married Evelyn Alice Tarwater Smith in Cameron. She died Oct. 31, 1992.

Mr. Pearson became a member of the Gallatin Christian Church in 1942 and in 1963 joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gallatin. In 1996, he transferred his membership to the 3 Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. Joe.

Mr. Pearson was also preceded in death by one brother, Dean; one stepdaughter, Patricia Huston; and one step-grandchild.

Survivors include his daughter, Majiel Gibbar of Gallatin; two stepdaughters, Karen Reed of Gallatin and Karla Salmon of Carlisle, Iowa; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
