Funeral services for Goldie M. Burns were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at McWilliams Family Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Centenary Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin United Methodist Church.

Goldie Mae Burns, 92, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin.

Mrs. Burns was born Feb. 4, 1911 in Daviess County. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1929 and attended colleges in Warrensburg and Maryville, where she received her teaching degree in elementary education and taught for 35 years.

She was a member of the Gallatin United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Burns married Kermit Burns, June 26, 1932, in Kingston. He died in December, 1978.

Mrs. Burns was also preceded in death by three brothers, Issac, Donald and James M. Swofford; great- grandson, B.J. McKay, in 2002; and grandson-in-law, Randy Dixon, in 1987.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Still, Gallatin; one sister, Sylvia Eads, Gallatin; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
