Jamie Lunsford, a senior at Gallatin R-5, has received first place at the Missouri DAR Good Citizenship competition. Jamie was presented the award during the Honors and Awards luncheon at the state conference of the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution held March 13-16 at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City.
Jamie received a $500 bond, a State Good Citizens pin and a certificate. She was sponsored by the Gallatin Chapter DAR. Over 50 chapters sent in contestants for the award.
“This is a great honor not only for Jamie, but also for her school,” said Mrs. K. Clark Froman, who was in Jefferson City for all of the four-day conference as Honorary State Regent. “We of the Gallatin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution are extremely happy for Jamie and very proud that one from our area received this coveted award. Congratulations to a job well done, Jamie.”
Those attending from Gallatin to see Jamie receive the award were her parents, Allan and Diana Lunsford; and members of the Gallatin DAR Chapter, Mrs. Herbert Carpenter and Mrs. Harold Bruce.
