Hector Hernandez entered a guilty plea on a plea agreement to the Class A misdemeanor of no valid operator’s license and was sentenced to one year in the county jail, execution of sentence suspended. He was placed on probation for two years under court supervision, sentenced to 20 days shock incarceration, and ordered to pay costs.

In State of Missouri vs. Joshua Jeffers, the defendant entered a guilty plea on a plea agreement to two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Class D felonies. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

State of Missouri vs. Joseph J. Jefferson was transferred to DeKalb County. Jefferson is charged with possession with intent to deliver, Class B felony, and possession of a controlled substance, Class A misdemeanor.

A warrant was issued for James Brendle for failure to appear on two counts of passing bad checks, Class D felonies. Bond is $10,000.

In State vs. Danielle A. Ackerlund, the defendant entered a guilty plea to the Class D felony of passing bad checks. Sentencing was set for April 9.

On a plea agreement, Kathy Louise Chadwick entered a plea of guilty to five felony counts of failure to make a sales tax return. Sentencing was set for April 9.

Dean S. Burton entered a guilty plea on a plea agreement to the Class C felony of involuntary manslaughter. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

Judge Warren McElwain presided over Civil Law Day on March 14. The following cases were heard:

Staci Heldenbrand was granted a dissolution of marriage from Rusty Heldenbrand, with her maiden name Gatton restored.

In Cooke Sales and Service Co Inc. vs. Michael Youngs, the defendant was granted the right to recover a Lowe trencher. The defendant was ordered to pay court costs.

At the request of the defendant, the case of Dean and Carlena Leeper vs. Robert R. Shemwell, personal representative of the Estate of Vernice Bush deceased, etal, was transferred to the DeKalb County Circuit Court.

The case of Linda M. Rossiter and Thelma M. Assell vs. Jason Thompson, trial de novo, small claims, heard March 11 by Judge McElwain, the plaintiffs were awarded judgment in the sum of $670.52 plus costs.

Civil cases filed: Holle Harmer etal vs. Jonathan Rittman etal, wrongful death, motion for approval; Beverly Manning etal vs. Jonathan Rittman etal, wrongful death, motion for approval; Rebecca J. Sutton vs. Tim W. Sutton, dissolution of marriage.

Criminal cases filed: Byron Ray Dickerson, burglary Class B felony, and domestic assault 3rd degree, Class A misdemeanor; Dustin G. Kimberling, assault 2nd degree, Class C felony; Joseph Leroy Loucks, tampering 1st degree, Class C felony, 2 counts.
