Funeral services for Velma C. Sutton were held Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the Oak Ridge Christian Church, Pattonsburg. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Velma Christine (Plowman) Sutton, 94, Pattonsburg, died Friday, February 28, 2003 at a Bethany Mo. nursing home.
She was born October 13, 1908 in Daviess County, Mo. She lived her entire life on the family farm north of old Pattonsburg in the Oak Ridge Community before moving to Crestview Nursing home one year ago. She was a homemaker and worked on the farm. She attended grade school at Oak Ridge and Pattonsburg High School. And was a member of the Oak Ridge Christian Church, Pattonsburg.
Mrs. Sutton was married to Oda R. Sutton on December 6, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters Alta Gardner and May Soloman and a brother James Plowman who died in infancy.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Sutton, Pattonsburg; two daughters, Evelyn Dilley, Pattonsburg; Lois Mooney, Plattsburg; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
