Daviess County Sheriff Kevin Heldenbrand says a statewide severe weather exercise will be conducted about 1:30 p.m. next Tuesday, March 11. In case of inclement weather, the exercise will be postponed to Thursday, March 13.

This exercise will be initiated according to state and local severe weather warning plans. It will be announced by the National Weather Service Office in St. Louis. In addition, the western part of Missouri will have an evening drill at 6:30 p.m. on March 11 as directed by the Weather Forecasting Office at Pleasant Hill. This second drill will give families a chance to practice their tornado safety plan following the evening weather report.
