Muddy Creek Rambler’s Club; Laureate Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi; Lake Viking Homemakers Club
The Muddy Creek Rambler’s Club held their monthly meeting at Breadeaux Pizza Friday with eight members and one guest present. After lunch, the meeting was opened with the club collect. Roll call was answered with something pertaining to Valentine’s Day.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Treasurer’s report was given. The remainder of the meeting was spent playing bingo. Next meeting is at 11:30 on Friday, March 21.
Laureate Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Feb. 3rd at the home of Nancy Tate. Communications from International were read concerning our donation to the endowment fund and rushing. The Chapter donated $200 to Girls State. The executive board met to discuss plans for Founders Day. A sweetheart dinner will be Feb. 17th at “Seasons” for members and guests. The birthday party at Lake Viking Health Care Center was served by Chapter members Feb. 11th.
Girls State delegate and alternate were voted on. The courtesy committee reported food was taken to member Barbara Irby following surgery. Founders Day plans were discussed and social chairman will make reservations at “Seasons.” Nancy Tate presented the program on the founder of the “Kewpie Doll” and had her collection on display. The next meeting will be March 3rd. Lois Agenstein hostess and Carol Weaver program.
Laureate Chapter Beta Sigma Phi met Feb. 15th at Seasons on the Square with ten members and eight guests. Minutes were read and approved. Treasurers report was given. Service committee reported on the birthday party at Lake Viking Health Care Center. Cultural program was “The Observance on Valentine’s Day”. The next meeting will be Lois Agenstein hostess, Carol Weaver, program.
The Lake Viking Homemakers Club met Feb. 13 at the club house. Hostesses were Shirley Leakey and Jean Caldwell who decorated the tables for Valentine’s Day. Birthday was Betty Cooksey. Anniversaries were Marge Revels and Brenda Stinson. We also had one guest, Mary Beth, sister of Jo Meyrs from Texas.
Devotions were Joyce Becerra and roll call was “your favorite pair” answered by 15 members present. The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Marge Revels. The correspondence was read. We received a thank you from each of the charities we contributed to. A sheet was sent around for everyone to make corrections of name, address, etc., for a master copy. Each member will be given one at a later date.
Joyce Becerra gave a list of items for each member to bring to learn to decorate their own cake at the April meeting. If you wish to watch, that is okay, too. New name tags were given out to anyone wishing one. Ann Fruits mentioned we need to be aware of the possibility of war and to pray. The rest of the afternoon was spent sharing valentines. Next meeting is March 13, 2003, at Little Blessings in Cameron at 12 noon.
