The Cowboy Country Store will open Saturday, March 1, two miles west of Gallatin on Hwy. 6.

The store is a combination of the talents of two families: Anthony and Linda Tworek of the Circle T Corral and Dave Shewmaker and Leisa Pigg of the Broken Heart Ranch. Anthony and Linda are from the Clarksdale area, David and Leisa live just south of Altamont.

The four riding buddies have put their love of all things western into the store, which features metalworks, western usables, woodworks and embroidered goods.

The majority of items sold are hand made and designed with a western theme that ranges from cactus to horseshoes. Many of the items are for the home, like blankets and rugs, others are for the farm and ranch, like gates and fences, saddle racks and tack.

All four of these skilled artists will work with the customer to custom design a piece and are conscious of keeping their inventory affordable.

Linda does the embroidery and specializes in “western sayings and horsy stuff.” She can create or copy logos for your farm, ranch or business on shirts, caps, jackets, T-shirts. She also puts accents on picture frames.

Anthony, a carpenter by trade, does the woodwork. These are barn wood type furnishings: benches, shelves, tables and more.

Dave does the metal work. His merchandise includes steel fences, gates, round pens, saddle racks, coat racks, pole lamps and flower stands.

Leisa does not like to admit to being an artist, but others would argue that she is when they see her sign paintings. She also does barb wire sculpture.

The store also offers cards and coffee mugs through the Leaning Tree distributor.

The inventory of the Cowboy Country Store will change daily. Suggestions from customers on what the store might need to handle are welcome.

The Cowboy Country Store invites you to come and visit. The coffee is free while you browse the wide range of items available. A grand opening is planned for some time in May.

The store is located two miles west of Gallatin on the south side of Hwy 6 in the building formerly housing Paradise Gardens. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The store is closed Thursday and Sunday. The number is 660-663-2340.
