Funeral services for Julia E. Lane were held Tuesday at the Jamesport Mennonite Church. Burial was at the Jamesport Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements were by McWilliams Family Funeral Homes, Jamesport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Church, Jamesport.

Julia Ellen Lane, 74, Jamesport, died Feb. 14, 2003, at her home in Jamesport.

Mrs. Lane was born July 29, 1928, in Littleton, Colo. At an early age her family moved to Iowa, where she graduated from Mt. Ayr Iowa High School. In 1993 she moved to Jamesport.

Mrs. Lane worked at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines as a telephone operator.

She was a member of the Church of God in Christ – Mennonite, in Jamesport, since 1995.

Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by one grandson, Thomas Lane, in 1969; and one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lane, in 1981.

Survivors include four sons, Rodric of El Paso, Texas, Randal of Queen Valley, Ariz., Robert of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Barry of Jamesport; one daughter, Diann Alt of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Louise Barnard of Littleton, Colo, Ann Maggard of Des Moines, Iowa, Sue Seaman of Panora, Iowa; one brother, James Maggard of North Glen, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
