Two Iowa residents received serious injuries in a one vehicle accident Sunday, Feb. 16, at about 8:50 a.m. two miles north of New Pattonsburg in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Juan Nieto, 23, Des Moines, Iowa, was northbound on I-35 when he lost control on the partially snow-covered roadway. The vehicle slid off the roadway into the median where it came to rest. The two backseat passengers were ejected.

Emilio Nieto, 18, and Jaime Nieto, 22, both of Des Moines, were transported by Noel T Adams Ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital.

The driver was wearing a seat belt, the injured passengers were not.

The 1991 Datsun was totaled and towed by Bethany Tow.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. P. Kimball, assisted by the Pattosnburg First Responders.

Summons to driver for failure to drive on right half of the roadway.
