The Harrison County Abstract Company, one of the oldest businesses in Bethany, has been purchased by Christa Sullenger and Rose Ann Sullenger of Gallatin, owners of Daviess County Land Title LLC.
According to an article published in the Bethany Republican-Clipper, the Sullengers purchased the abstract company from Glenda Esley on Jan. 31. The mother and daughter will operate the abstract company as Harrison County Title LLC and continue with its present staff, including Roberta Smith, Mary Long and Lila Craig. The business is located on West Main Street in Bethany.
The Sullengers have more than 35 years of combined experience in the title industry. Christa is engaged to be married to Mike Littrell, son of Lowell and Marlene Littrell of Bethany.
Harrison County Title maintains property records back to the 1950s. The business has handwritten, typed and microfilm to date of all land records on file in the recorder’s office in the Harrison County courthouse. Plans are to continue maintaining records of title insurance, deeds and transactions between owners. The business also offers title search services to the public.
Daviess County Land Title has been in operation for more than 30 years.
