Funeral services for Wayne Barnhart, father of Kayla Michael of Gallatin, were held Saturday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. Burial was in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The family suggests contributions to the donor’s choice.

Wayne E. “Barney” Barnhart, 86, Cameron, died Jan. 29, 2003, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.

Mr. Barnhart, a carpenter, was born in Elkland.

He was a member of the Navy and served in WWII.

Mr. Barnhart was a member of the Blue Ridge Baptist Temple, Carpenter’s Local #61, and life- time member of V.F.W. Post #4242.

Mr. Barnhart was preceded in death by his wife, Edith E.; two brothers, Monte Clymore and Joe Blaine Barnhart; one sister, Reba Jones; and one grandson, Christian Barnhart.

Other survivors include three sons, Denny of Burleson, Texas, Timmy of Lenexa, Kan. and Jim of Blue Springs; three sisters, Fona Dill of Buffalo, Ruth Covey of Independence, and Imogene Adams of Holt Summit; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
