Fire Chief Doug Hamilton reported that the Gallatin Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire Saturday night at 108 E. Mill in Gallatin. The call came in at 8:44 p.m. and firefighters were on scene at 8:47 p.m. Firefighters gained control of the blaze within 18 minutes of the first arriving engine. The fire originated in the area of a ventless gas heater located on the back porch. Fire extended from the back porch to the kitchen and through the ceiling into the attic. Most of the damage was contained to these areas with smoke damage throughout the residence.
The owner of the home is Darren Price of Mexico, Mo and is rented to Kim Muse.
Gallatin Fire was assisted by the City of Gallatin Natural Gas & Utility Department and Police Department.
