Joseph L. Loucks, 33, address not listed, was charged Jan. 20 with two counts of tampering, Class C felony, in connection with the theft of two vehicles in Gallatin. One vehicle was taken from 205 N. Daviess on Jan. 20 and one from 212 E. Berry on Jan. 18. Bond has been set at $35,000. He is being held at Ray County Security Housing.
Loucks was involved in a trespassing incident in Gallatin on Jan. 20 and had been asked to leave. He was later observed driving a vehicle with no license. The city officer followed the subject, who wrecked the vehicle south of Gallatin. The subject was taken into custody after trying to escape into a field, and then transported back to town for processing. Loucks admitted to stealing the first vehicle on Jan. 18, which police had already recovered. That vehicle had been involved in a drive-off theft at a gas station in Trenton, a charge which is being handled by the Trenton police department.
Leona D. Wortham, 21, and Ralph Hall, 28, both of Des Moines, were charged Jan. 20 with unlawful use of a weapon/ concealed weapon, Class D felonies, and possession of 35 grams or less marijuana, Class A misdemeanor. They posted bond of $30,500 and $34,500 respectively.
A 19-year-old St. Paul, Minn., woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance / 35 grams or less marijuana, Class A misdemeanor, on Jan. 17. She posted $500 bond.
A 22-year-old Gallatin man was arrested Jan. 17 on a Harrison County warrant for stealing, Class A misdemeanor. He was transported to Harrison County, and bond was set at $1,000.
A 40-year-old Coffey man was arrested Jan. 18 for misdemeanor possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released.
A 20-year-old St. Paul, Minn., woman was charged Jan. 17 with misdemeanor driving while revoked. She posted $150 bond.
A 34-year-old Coffey woman was charged with misdemeanor possession of 35 grams or less marijuana / possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 18. She posted $750 bond.
