An Oklahoma man and his wife both received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident in Daviess County at about 7:40 a.m. on Dec. 31, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Ricky Price, 26, Oklahoma City, Okla., was southbound on Hwy. 69, one- tenth of a mile east of Winston, and failed to negotiate a curve. He drove off the west side of the highway, over-corrected and went across the highway and off the east side. The vehicle came to rest on its top in the ditch.
Mr. Price and his wife, Robin, 25, were both taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Hospital. Ricky Price was wearing his seat belt, Robin Price was not.
The 1996 Pontiac Grand Am was totaled and towed by Bridgeman’s of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. J.H. Thompson, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and K-A-W First Responders.
Summons was issued for failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
