Funeral services for Ellen L. Prentice will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McWilliams Family Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial will be at Muddy Fork Cemetery, Holt. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home, where there will also be visitation one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Ellen Louise Prentice, 82, Gallatin, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Prentice was born May 12, 1920, in Kansas City to Harry and Ida “Culp” Hadley.
She married Clyde W. Prentice on May 22, 1937, in North Kansas City. They lived most of their life in Clay County, moving to Gallatin in 1979. He died in 1986. Mrs. Prentice moved back to Gladstone in 1988, returning in 1999 to the Lake Viking Care Center in Gallatin.
Mrs. Prentice was a member of the Gallatin First Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Homer, Norman, Hershel and Philip Hadley.
Survivors include one son, Charles “Pinky”, Jameson; two daughters, Evelyn Riley, Gallatin, and Mary Moore, Cameron; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
