Lola Mae (Bell) Lovett, 97, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at an area nursing home.
Funeral services for Lola Mae Lovett, a native of Daviess County, were held Saturday at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cecil Wilson and Lola Mae (Bell) Lovett Perpetually Endowed Care Fund for the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Checks may be made payable to the Neville Cemetery Association Inc. in care of the Citizen’s Bank of Blythedale, P.O. Box 10, Blythedale, 64426.
Lola Mae (Bell) Lovett, 97, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at an area nursing home.
Mrs. Lovett was born Jan. 17, 1905, in Daviess County to Romey and Myrtle (Gebhart) Bell. Mrs. Lovett lived in the Hamilton area most of her childhood except for a short period of time when she lived in Colorado. She finished high school in Hamilton. She attended Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe.
Mrs. Lovett worked for a creamery in Jamesport, as a bookkeeper. She was also a bookkeeper for the Eagleville Lumber Co. and for the Blythedale and Ridgeway lumber companies.
She married Cecil Wilson Lovett on April 11, 1929, and moved to Blythedale. The Lovett family moved to Topeka, Kan., during the second World War, moving back to Blythedale in 1944.
Mrs. Lovett was raised in the Disciples of Christ Church. After her marriage, she was baptized into the Church of God of Abraham’s Faith.
Mrs. Lovett was a charter member of the Blythedale Extension Homemakers Club. She was a sponsor for several years of the Eagleville Epsilon Delta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. As a volunteer of the Harrison County RSVP, she was awarded a 20-year pin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. on Aug. 4, 1967; and five brothers, Cecil Bell, Frank Bell, Archie Bell, Earl Bell and Fred Bell.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Shain, Eagleville and Adene Beeson, Princeton; two sons, Cecil Lovett, Kearney, and Karl Lovett, Aransas Pass, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
