Funeral services for Robert Werner will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Jamesport. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #31 of Trenton.

Robert Werner, 67, Jamesport, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Nixa.

Mr. Werner was born June 21, 1935, in Arispe, Iowa, to Arthur S. and Eva “Stewart” Werner. He graduated from Creston, Iowa, High School.

In 1953, Mr. Werner joined the Navy and served for four years. He then joined the Air Force where he served another four years.

Mr. Werner was a self-employed truck driver.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #31 of Trenton and was a Boy Scout leader.

Mr. Werner was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn, in 1992; and a sister, Violet Bolinger in 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Shawna Montgomery, Cameron and Marie Werner, Nixa; four sons, Don Werner and Michael Isbell both of Jamesport, Rick Slight, Springfield, and Tom Souders, Kansas City; one sister, Wilma Guess, Bethany; one brother, Bill, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
