Funeral service for Jack L. Markham, formerly of Jameson, were held Monday at the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Burial was at the Coffey Cemetery, with Military Rites by VFW Post No. 2176 and American Legion Post No. 216, Bethany; VFW Post No. 5329 and American

Legion Post No. 106, Albany. Masonic service was held Sunday by St. Joseph Lodge No. 78 AF&AM, at the church. Memorials may be made to Comfort Care Hospice, Cameron, and/or the Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph.

Jack L. Markham, 87, St. Joseph, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002.

Born Nov. 18, 1914, in Jameson, Mr. Markham was a 1932 graduate of Jameson High School.

On July 10, 1942, he entered the U.S. Army, serving in the 748th Field Artillery Battalion for 43 months and the ETO for 14 months.

Mr. Markham farmed in the Jameson area for 38 years before retiring to St. Joseph.

On Nov. 29, 1942, he married Zemilena Shipers in Gallatin.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Lodge No. 78 AF&AM; High Twelve Club No. 49, St. Joseph; and the Order of Eastern Star, Corinthian Chapter No. 112, Gallatin.

Mr. Markham was baptized into the First Christian Church, Jameson, and transferred to Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Zemilena, of the home; two daughters, Angetta Williams, St. Joseph, and Melissa Feldhaus, St. Louis; and four granddaughters.
