The North Daviess R-3 Advisory Committee met at the school in Jameson on Oct. 1. Each of the vocational departments including business, Family and Consumer Science, and agriculture were reviewed by the committee.

Business instructor Linda Phipps stressed how important the committee’s continuing support, assistance and input is to keeping the programs viable and up to date.

The North Daviess Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America held a brief meeting, which included the installation of new officers. These officers include Darcie Iddings, president; Jhona Skeens, vice president; Nicole Ray, secretary; Mark McNeely, treasurer, Beth Morris, reporter; John Bohannon, historian; Steven Steinman, parliamentarian, and Shannon Dutro, chaplain.

In conclusion, Ms. Phipps informed the committee about the department. She stressed the importance of increasing the need to teach students about new and innovative technology and she presented the committee with the new curriculum purchased for the keyboarding class.

The committee was presented with an annual report from Nicki Walker, agriculture instructor. This report informed the committee of enrollment, description of classes, student career interest, the Supervised Agriculture Experience Program, FFA Chapter membership, the summer program, follow up of graduates, professional development of the instructor, and program funding.

Ms. Walker announced the officers of the North Daviess FFA Chapter for the 2002-2003 school year, which are Jessica Youngs, president; Felicia Nelson, vice president; Holly Jincks, secretary/treasurer; John Bohannon, reporter; and Mark McNeely, sentinel.

Julie Leathers, Family and Consumer Science Instructor, concluded the committee meeting. She informed the members about the department including enrollment, curriculum, professional development and student achievement.

Ms. Leathers announced the officers of the North Daviess FCCLA Chapter for the 2002-2003 school year which are Crystal Cook, president; Shannon Dutro, vice president; Heather McCambell, secretary, Meghan Roberts, treasurer, and Felicia Nelson, reporter.
