Funeral services for Catherine R. Smith were held Monday at Stroup-Thompson Funeral Home, Winston. Burial was at Winston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Winston United Methodist Church.
Catherine R. Smith, 92, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at a health care center in Gallatin.
Mrs. Smith was born March 16, 1910, to Everett and Hattie (Downing) Shoemaker at Winston. She attended Winston High School. She also attended Central Missouri State University and graduated with a degree in elementary education.
Mrs. Smith taught school for 39 years in Lock Springs, Jamesport and Cameron.
On Sept. 12, 1929, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Smith. He died on March 29, 2001.
She was a member of Delta Kappa and the Winston United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Dannie; one sister, Mary Story, Grand Island, Neb.; and one grandson.
