In State of Missouri vs. Michael D. Brown, heard Oct. 16 by Judge Warren McElwain, the pre- sentence investigation was filed. The defendant had previously plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance, Class C felony, and DWI, class B misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 5 years on the felony charge; the court retains jurisdiction under 559.115 RSMo. and recommends institutional treatment. Defendant is on probation until he reports for incarceration on Nov. 22. On the misdemeanor, Brown was sentenced to 10 days and given credit for time served.
On Oct. 21, Steven A. Goad failed to appear for a probation violation hearing before Judge Daren Adkins. A warrant was issued and $1,000 cash bond was set.
