James W. “Jim” Pierce, 64, Gallatin, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at his home in Gallatin.
Funeral services for James W. Pierce were held Tuesday at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
James W. “Jim” Pierce, 64, Gallatin, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at his home in Gallatin.
Mr. Pierce was born June 17, 1938, to Harley R. and Cynthia A. (Hill) Pierce in Kansas City. He graduated from Central High School, Kansas City, in 1956.
On Feb. 3, 1957, he married Patricia Thomas in Gallatin and then in 1958 they moved to Gallatin. She died in January 1987.
Mr. Pierce was also preceded in death by his father Harley Pierce.
Mr. Pierce worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Harold Bailey for many years, as well as several Kansas City area hospitals.
He was very active in the Boy Scouts and was an honorary warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Mr. Pierce attended the Gallatin United Methodist Church; was a member of the Gallatin School Board; and served as a volunteer firefighter.
Survivors include son, Paul Pierce, Gallatin; one daughter, Susie Walker, Cameron; his mother, Cynthia Doyle, Gallatin; one sister, Connie Thomas, Gallatin; and three grandchildren.
