Jack Gannan received a plaque honoring his years of dedicated service while on the Gallatin Park Board. He was a member for seven years. Mr. Gannan is pictured with Park Board members Don Smith and David McLey in front of newly planted trees at Dockery Park.
Pat Warren, who served as executive director of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints until just recently, and LDS member Gerald Tolman, who operated the spade, dug up trees from the park and transplanted them south of the livestock barn as a community service project. The seven trees are of different varieties and are from 12-16 foot tall.
The Park Board is planning upgrades to the park including painting the livestock building and the grandstand, putting new fence around the west ball field, acquiring a new play station, and possibly getting a batting cage.
Park Board members include Don Smith, chair; Michelle Allen, secretary; Joe Griffin, vice president; David McLey, treasurer; Damon Hennen, Sharon Berten, Stephanie Cole, Sue Downey, and Chris Henderson. Park Board meetings are held the third Monday at the park’s shelter house. Everyone is invited to sit in on the meeting and share new ideas.
