Businesses in Daviess County have until Nov. 7 to apply for low-interest economic injury loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The loans are available to businesses that experienced financial losses as a result of severe winter ice storms that occurred Jan. 29-Feb. 3, 2002. Physical losses caused by the disaster cannot be covered by these loans.

These loans are available to businesses which meet the SBA size standards and cannot meet their disaster-related financial needs through other sources. Farmers and ranchers are not eligible for these loans.

Applications and further information can be obtained by calling the SBA, toll-free at 1-800-366-6303. Businesses in 60 counties in Missouri, 9 counties in Kansas and three counties in Iowa are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted no later than Nov. 7.
