Gallatin’s Junior High girls softball team recently wrapped up an undefeated season that saw them win all 10 games, including the championship of the Albany Tournament. In the process, the young Lady Bulldogs outscored their opponents, 102 to 22. The “B” team girls finished 2-3 for the season and scored 27 runs to 37 by their opponents.
The Lady Bulldog streak was threatened twice late in the season but they prevailed, 9-6, against Maysville, and 4-3 vs. Trenton.
“The girls kept their composure and got the hits when they needed them,” said Coach Denise Ray, who also praised the leadership provided by her 8th graders. Statistically, Ayrica Batson led the team with 4 home runs. Lacey Dixon was the winning pitcher in all 10 “A” games.
